Nebraska fought tooth and nail but came up just short, falling 30–27 to Michigan in Lincoln. The game exposed the Huskers’ flaws along the lines of scrimmage, but also revealed some big time playmaking ability from NU skill positions.
From the opening whistle, the Huskers showed they could move the ball on the Wolverines, immediately driving to the 6-yard line. But the Big Red failed to convert fourth-and-2, and again came up empty on its second possession after missing a 44-yard field goal. Michigan then took an early lead with a 46-yard field goal of it’s own.
